♥ Nan's Doilies ♥

These are water color paintings of doilies that my Nan, Geraldine, created and embroidered in her, 'Decorative Needlework' class, back when she was at school.
I love the fragility of them and the imperfection that comes from the handmade.
I wanted to paint them as a tribute to my beautiful Nan and as a vehicle to explore the existence of, 'sentimentality' in my own life and in the lives of others.

DOILY PAINTINGS FOR SALE :
I would love to make paintings for anyone who has a doily, or a similar object, that they love. All I need is to be sent a photograph of said item.
